DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

We are a nonprofit organization, committed to working in partnership with local communities, to realize the vision of a Community Center. This will be a place for youth, families, singles, or seniors; a place where individually or together we can play, swim, exercise, learn; a place that promotes wellness, centered on the values of equity and accessibility.   We are seeking a first-time staff Program Manager as passionate as we are to join our team.  This skilled and dynamic individual will work with us to develop and implement systems to support all aspects of our work:


  1. Oversee and help carry out our 2024-2025 action plan

  2. Develop and implement a plan for community marketing and engagement

  3. Develop a strategy to recruit, engage and formalize partnerships

  4. Assist in planning board communication and meetings

  5. Assist in developing a capital campaign based on feasibility study

 

This position will report directly to the Valley Community Center Partners Board

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL GET TO:

  • Bring passion, creativity and ideas to a community centered nonprofit vision

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and timelines

  • Identify challenges as they arise and implement solutions

  • Plan ongoing communication with community members and stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment of project objectives

  • Foster strong community relationships through effective communication, collaboration, and responsiveness, and identify opportunities for additional engagement.

  • Leverage insights to enhance project delivery and outcomes

  • Contribute to creating a valued resource for our community and its residents

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A desire to learn quickly

  • The ability to work well and build rapport quickly with other people

  • An innate ability to self-manage and organize a to-do list and understand/execute priorities

  • Communication skills to help you work with various people, personalities, timelines/calendars

  • Ability to creatively problem solve

  • A commitment to being a life-long learner

  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust

  • Ownership and pride in your work

  • Basic understanding of social media

  • A cell phone, computer, reliable internet access, reliable access to transportation

COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE & LOCATION

  • Compensation:  $50-70/hr., dependent on experience

  • Schedule:  8-10 hour/week starting with opportunity to grow, may include occasional weekends, evenings

  • Flexibility

  • Location:  work from home with expectations to attend in person individual and board meetings, community meetings, community events, and research trips to other community centers in the Twin Cities Metro area. Prefer residency within project’s demographic area, ISD 834.
